So...No Shampoo/Condition huh??

Was reading up on "Go No 'Poo"...which is stopping using shampoo/condition, for a natural cost effect much healthier way of washing/conditioning your hair, sounds crazy, but I'm going to test it out...it's baking soda and water for a wash and then to help balance ph in your hair and help with health, use an apple cider vinegar rise...Guess I'll have to test it out, if it works it's WAY cheaper and better for my hair than shampoo/conditioner... :) I was reading there is a "detox" period where you hair can get greasy but usually only takes a week or two to get over, and you have to wash more frequently during that time, while the oil glands readjust to not being so clogged/built up...The detox period lasts based on how often you wash your hair, how thick/long it is...Mine is longer/thicker, but I only wash every 3 days or so...so It may not take as long...It also says that once you get regulated with this stuff, you only have to wash every 3 to 5 days! Would be nice! I'll keep you posted! :) Was also reading you can add tea tree oil and or lavender essential oil to the apple cider vinegar rinse.... It also said if you have hard water (or think you do) you have to boil your water for your mixes for at least 10 min first, to get out some of the harsh minerals that are in hard water...which is what I'm doing now....I'll keep you posted... :) So what do you think?? You going to try it with me? Take a challenge? HUH? If not, I will at least keep you posted....Here's the mixtures I'm starting with, (these can be adjusted and need to be sometimes for each different persons ph/hair/scalp)...Baking Soda Wash - 1/4 Cup Soda to 16 oz. of water (because i have hard water I have to use a bit more soda) and for the apple cider vinegar (acv) rinse - 1 1/2 oz vinegar to 8 oz water...Will keep you posted! Here goes a challenge!! Can I do it?! I'm going to try this for my boys and I, and if it works, I'm going to add Tea Tree Oil and Henna and Lavender to it, Helps with scalp help and is ALSO a natural head lice killer/repelent...So We'll do this for two to three weeks, and if it works, I'll start adding the 3 oils to my mix a small drop or two at a time, to see what happens. :)
